Parent lines and genetic origin
The Palmar Auto is the automatic version of The Palmar, a Trikoma Seeds own selection. The page declares AK-74 × Power Plant as parent lines: the same base as the photoperiod feminized, from which it inherits both the aroma profile and the habit.
What separates it from that one is its autoflowering condition. The automatic versions in the catalogue include Cannabis ruderalis genetics, the short-cycle subspecies adapted to high latitudes, and that contribution changes how the plant works: whereas in a photoperiod strain flowering starts when the photoperiod changes, in an autoflowering strain the shift from growth to flowering depends on the age of the plant.
The Trikoma version comes from our own mother plants, selected and maintained at our bank in Barcelona. We work on our own parent lines and we do not distribute third-party genetic material: what this page describes is our selection of The Palmar Auto.
The Palmar Auto technical data
- Genetics: AK-74 × Power Plant
- Type: autoflowering, feminized
- Declared THC (catalogue data): 14–19%
- Aroma and flavour: sweet, with forest-fruit notes and a slightly acidic touch
- Formats: 6, 100 and 1,000 seeds
The percentages are ranges declared by the bank for its parent lines. The result varies between phenotypes and conditions: these are catalogue data to identify and compare strains, not a guarantee of result or an indication of use.
What makes this strain recognisable
The profile the page declares is built in three stages: a sweet aroma that opens, some forest-fruit notes that give it character and a slightly acidic touch that closes it and keeps the whole from being cloying. That final acidity is the detail that separates it from the other sweet lines in the catalogue, where the fruit is wrapped in sugar.
In structure it is a medium-to-large plant, which can reach close to a metre and a half: it is among the taller autoflowering strains in the range, far from the compact ones that barely go past half a metre. That volume is, along with the acidic point of the aroma, what best identifies it among the automatic strains in the catalogue.
As in any seed population there is variation between phenotypes: these traits describe the average of the selection, not one particular specimen.
How it fits within the catalogue
- The Palmar feminized: the photoperiod version of the same selection, with the same declared parent lines. It shares the profile and the lineage, but it goes into flowering when the photoperiod changes and not by age. It is the direct comparison between the two families.
- AK-74 Auto: it shares the AK-74 parent, but with a fresh, fruity profile without the forest-fruit notes or the acidic point, and 15–20% declared THC against the 14–19% of this one.
- Sweet Madness Auto: another autoflowering strain in a sweet register, here with mango notes instead of forest fruits, and with a much more compact habit.
Other versions of The Palmar
The Palmar is available in two versions within the catalogue: the photoperiod The Palmar feminized and this The Palmar Auto. There is no fast version of this line. You can browse the rest in autoflowering seeds.
About the large formats
Besides the 6-seed pack, The Palmar Auto is offered in 100-seed and 1,000-seed packs. They are single-strain packs, with no mixes: all the seeds come from the same selection of mother plants as the small format, so what changes is the quantity and not the genetic material.
The difference is in the price per seed, which drops from €3.33 in the small format to €2.40 in the 100-seed pack and to €1.20 in the 1,000-seed pack. The whole catalogue in these formats is in bulk seeds.
Frequently asked questions about The Palmar Auto
How does it differ from The Palmar feminized?
In what triggers flowering. The feminized is photoperiod and changes phase when the photoperiod changes. The Palmar Auto is autoflowering: the change depends on the age of the plant. The declared parent lines, AK-74 × Power Plant, are the same in both.
What makes a strain autoflowering?
The ruderalis genetics these versions include. Cannabis ruderalis comes from high latitudes, where the season is short, and it passes on a development that is not governed by the photoperiod, but by the age of the plant.
What does the declared THC of 14–19% mean?
It is the range the bank declares for its parent lines, not a measurement of each seed. It serves to place the strain against others in the catalogue and compare them with each other.
