Sweet Madness Auto is the autoflowering version of Sweet Madness, a Trikoma Seeds own selection whose declared cross is Somango × Critical. The page for this autoflowering version records the genetics as Somango × Critical × Ruderalis: the same base as the feminized, plus a third line.

That third line is Cannabis ruderalis, the short-cycle subspecies adapted to high latitudes, and it is what defines the behaviour of the plant. In a photoperiod strain flowering starts when the photoperiod changes; in Sweet Madness Auto the shift from growth to flowering depends on the age of the plant and not on the photoperiod.

The Trikoma version comes from our own mother plants, selected and maintained at our bank in Barcelona. We work on our own parent lines and we do not distribute third-party genetic material: what this page describes is our selection of Sweet Madness Auto.

What makes this strain recognisable

The profile the page declares is sweet with mango notes, and that specificity is what sets it apart: it is not a generic fruit, but an identifiable tropical note, fleshier and less acidic than that of the red-fruit or citrus lines in the catalogue. The sweetness wraps around it without covering it.

In structure it keeps the compact architecture of the line it comes from: a contained habit, without large lateral expansions. It is the reverse of the Haze lines in the range, with a more open habit and a spicy aroma, and among the sweet autoflowering strains it is the one with the most marked mango note.

About the large formats

Besides the 6-seed pack, Sweet Madness Auto is offered in 100-seed and 1,000-seed packs. They are single-strain packs, with no mixes: all the seeds come from the same selection of mother plants as the small format, so what changes is the quantity and not the genetic material.

The difference is in the price per seed, which drops from €3.33 in the small format to €2.40 in the 100-seed pack and to €1.20 in the 1,000-seed pack. The whole catalogue in these formats is in bulk seeds.

How does it differ from the Sweet Madness feminized?

In what triggers flowering. The feminized is photoperiod — Somango × Critical — and changes phase when the photoperiod changes. The autoflowering adds ruderalis to the cross, so the change depends on the age of the plant. The Somango × Critical base is common to both.

Where does the mango note come from?

From the Somango component of the cross, the line that brings the tropical register of the profile. The Critical base is what provides the body and the compact structure, and the ruderalis contribution is what makes the strain autoflowering.

What does the declared THC of 15–20% mean?

It is the range the bank declares for its parent lines, not a measurement of each seed. It serves to place the strain against others in the catalogue and compare them with each other.
