Parent lines and genetic origin

Al Tiro Auto is an in-house selection by Trikoma Seeds, not a version of someone else’s strain. Its name is a nod to the Chilean market: «al tiro» is the expression used there to say that something is done very quickly. The page declares a cross of Ruderalis × Patagonia × Wendy, that is, two lines from our own catalogue combined with a ruderalis line.

That third leg is what defines the strain. Cannabis ruderalis is the short-cycle subspecies adapted to high latitudes, where the season barely leaves any margin, and it passes on a development that is not governed by the photoperiod. In a photoperiod plant flowering starts when the photoperiod changes; in Al Tiro Auto the shift from growth to flowering depends on the age of the plant.

The Trikoma version comes from our own mother plants selected and maintained at our bank in Barcelona. The three components of the cross come from our own parent lines: we do not distribute genetic material from third parties, and what this page describes is our selection.

Al Tiro Auto technical data

  • Genetics: Ruderalis × Patagonia × Wendy
  • Type: autoflowering, feminized
  • Declared THC (catalogue data): 17–22%
  • Aroma and flavour: sweet
  • Formats: 6, 100 and 1,000 seeds

The percentages are ranges declared by the bank for its parent lines. The result varies between phenotypes and conditions: these are catalogue data to identify and compare strains, not a guarantee of result or an indication of use.

What makes this strain recognisable

The profile the page records is sweet, with no added nuances: there is no earthy background, no lactic note, no citrus edge competing with it. It is a frontal and direct aroma, and that simplicity is precisely what sets it apart within a catalogue where most profiles are compound.

In structure it is an autoflowering strain balanced in size and production, with large and compact buds, as striking and aromatic as those of our feminized versions. It is not a miniaturised plant: it takes a medium habit, with flowers of good calibre.

The declared THC of 17–22% is also one of the highest ranges recorded in this series of pages. As in any seed population there is variation between phenotypes: these traits describe the average of the selection, not a specific individual.

How it fits within the catalogue

  • Patagonia feminized: one of its two parent lines from the catalogue, in photoperiod version. It serves to see the difference between the two families: same house, same mother plant selection, but flowering governed by the photoperiod.
  • Wendy feminized: the other parent line, also photoperiod, with the Haze register it brings to the cross as against the sweet profile that Al Tiro Auto declares.
  • Patagonia Auto: the closest autoflowering strain in lineage, with a fruity profile and 14–19% declared THC as against the 17–22% of Al Tiro Auto.

Other versions of Al Tiro Auto

Al Tiro exists only in autoflowering version: there is no photoperiod Al Tiro feminized or fast version within the catalogue. Its parent lines are available separately as Patagonia and Wendy. You can browse the rest in autoflowering seeds.

About the large formats

In addition to the 6-seed pack, Al Tiro Auto is offered in packs of 100 and 1,000 seeds. They are single-strain packs, with no mixes: all the seeds come from the same mother plant selection as the small format, so what changes is the quantity and not the genetic material.

The difference is in the price per seed, which drops from €3.33 in the small format to €2.40 in the 100-seed pack and to €1.20 in the 1,000-seed pack. The whole catalogue in these formats is in bulk seeds.

Frequently asked questions about Al Tiro Auto

How does an autoflowering strain like this differ from a photoperiod feminized one?

In what triggers flowering. A photoperiod feminized strain like Patagonia changes phase when the photoperiod changes. Al Tiro Auto carries ruderalis in its cross, so the change depends on the age of the plant.

Why does its genetics mention two strains from our own catalogue?

Because Al Tiro Auto is an in-house selection: it does not start from an external strain, but from the cross between two lines we already maintain, Patagonia and Wendy, combined with ruderalis.

What does the declared THC of 17–22% mean?

It is the range the bank declares for its parent lines, not a measurement of each seed. It serves to place the strain against others in the catalogue and to compare them with each other.
