Parent lines and genetic origin

Wendy Auto, whose original name is «La Traición de Wendy», is an in-house selection by Trikoma Seeds. Its data sheet declares a cross of Ruderalis × Black Widow: to the Black Widow line we keep at the bank is added a line of Cannabis ruderalis, the short-cycle subspecies adapted to high latitudes. The result is an autoflowering strain with a mainly Haze profile.

The ruderalis contribution is what changes how the plant works and what separates this version from its photoperiod equivalent. In a photoperiod strain flowering starts when the photoperiod changes; in Wendy Auto the move from growth to flowering depends on the age of the plant and not on the photoperiod.

The Trikoma version comes from our own mother plants, selected and kept at our bank in Barcelona. We work on our own parent lines and we do not distribute third-party genetic material: what this page describes is our selection of Wendy Auto.

What makes this strain recognisable

The aroma the data sheet declares is unmistakable Haze: a spiced register, with an incense background and a penetrating edge that stays in the air. Nothing like the sweet or fruity lines of the catalogue, nor like the earthy profile of the indicas. It is an aroma that identifies itself, with no need for contrast.

In structure it is a medium-sized plant with a clearly branched architecture: instead of one dominant cola, it spreads the weight across many branches and develops a large number of very resinous buds. That combination of open branching and resin load is its second hallmark, alongside the aroma.

As in any seed population there is variation between phenotypes: these traits describe the average of the selection, not one specific plant.

How it fits within the catalogue

• Wendy feminized: the photoperiod version of the same selection, with a declared cross of Amnesia Haze × Black Widow. It shares the Black Widow component and the Haze register, but it goes into flowering when the photoperiod changes and not with age.
• Jack Herer Auto: the other Haze autoflowering strain in the catalogue, with 14–19% declared THC against the 15–20% of this one.
• Al Tiro Auto: it carries Wendy within its own cross, alongside Patagonia, and declares instead a sweet profile and a THC of 17–22%.

About the large formats

Besides the 6-seed pack, Wendy Auto is offered in packs of 100 and 1,000 seeds. They are single-strain packs, with no mixes: all the seeds come from the same selection of mother plants as the small format, so what changes is the quantity and not the genetic material.

The difference is in the price per seed, which drops from €3.33 in the small format to €2.40 in the 100-seed pack and to €1.20 in the 1,000-seed one. The whole catalogue in these formats is in bulk seeds.
