Who is this variety for?

Blueberry suits anyone looking for an 80% indica-dominant plant with a highly recognisable sweet, fruity profile, a small and sturdy plant that’s easy to manage in any growing system.

Parentage and genetic origin

Blueberry is 80% indica-dominant, with a 20% sativa contribution. Its genetic base comes from Afghan and Asian indica material that was worked in North America from the 1970s and 1980s onward, crossed with lines of Thai origin. That’s where its two defining traits come from: the compact, tight structure contributed by the indica base, and the sweet aromatic profile carried by the Asian sativa input.

The variety arrived in Europe in the 1990s and has been reworked many times since. Today “Blueberry” names more a family than a single line: there are as many versions as there are seed banks that have worked it, and not all of them share the same parentage or the same behaviour. That’s why, when a catalogue offers a Blueberry, what matters isn’t the name but which selection stands behind it.

Ours comes from our own mother plants, selected and maintained at our bank in Barcelona. We don’t distribute third-party material: every line in the catalogue comes from mother plants we maintain ourselves, and that’s what allows one batch to resemble the last.

THC and CBD profile

The declared range is 19–24% THC across the parent lines. This is catalogue data, not a measurement of each individual seed. CBD is low and not quantified on this sheet.

Aroma and flavour

Some varieties are identified by their structure or their resin. Blueberry is identified by smell, and that’s the reason it’s still in catalogues decades later.

The trait that defines it is ripe red fruit. It’s not a generic candy sweetness, but something much more specific: blueberry, with just the right amount of acidity underneath. Over that base appears a second layer of peach, fleshier and rounder, which softens the whole. The background is what you’d expect from an Afghan-based indica: slightly earthy, with a sweet note underpinning everything.

When it first started circulating, this profile was practically unheard of. Before it, describing a variety almost always revolved around earthy, spicy or citrus notes. Blueberry opened up a new category, and among the varieties in our catalogue it’s probably still the easiest to recognise by smell alone. The structure matches: a small, sturdy plant with bluish-toned leaves and thick buds heavily covered in resin.

Outdoor growing

Harvest in late September in the northern hemisphere and late March in the southern hemisphere. Yield of 0.5–1.5 kg per plant, according to strain databases.

How it fits within the catalogue

Blueberry sits at the indica, fruity end of the collection. If you want to compare it:

• Compared with the Critical Plus (Critical Bilbo × AK-47, 70% indica), Blueberry is somewhat more indica and considerably sweeter on the nose.
• Compared with the AK-74 (40/60 genotype, declared THC 24–29%), the difference is bigger: AK-74 has a fresher, spicier character and a much more balanced split.
• Compared with Sweet Madness (75% indica, forest fruits), they share the fruity register, but Blueberry adds the peach note and a more earthy background.

Are all three formats from the same selection?

Yes. All three packs come from the same mother plants and the same selection work. The only thing that changes is the quantity and the price per seed.

Why does THC appear as a range and not a single figure?

Because within the same line no two plants are identical, and the result also depends on conditions beyond the bank’s control. A range honestly describes that variation; an exact figure would hide it.

How much does Blueberry yield?
