It is associated with the European scene of the early nineties and with a trait that made it identifiable straight away: a resin coverage so dense and so pale that it ended up giving the strain its name. Over the years it stopped being a single line and became a wide family, worked by very different hands, so that today there are versions living side by side that share a name and a general character but not a single origin.

The version in this catalogue comes from the documented cross Widow Bilbo × Widow BCN. They are two Widow lines selected separately and brought together to fix the aromatic profile and the structure that the data sheet describes. The result is a hybrid with moderate indica predominance, 60% indica and 40% sativa, which stays halfway between the more closed and compact indicas and the long-cycle sativas.

It is worth separating the two things: the general context belongs to the White Widow strain as a category, not to this line in particular. The trait most talked about with White Widow is the resin. It is the element that sets it apart in any historical description of the strain and the one that is still its visual mark: a dense, pale layer that covers the bud and the nearest leaves, and that gives it the whitish look from which it takes its name.

In aroma, this line is described as earthy and spiced. It is a dry, deep base, more of wood and turned earth than sweet, over which citrus, floral and pine nuances appear. The combination is characteristic: the pine and the floral lift the whole and keep the earthy base from turning flat, while the citrus brings a fresh edge to the aromatic foreground.

The structure goes with the genotype. With a 60% indica load and 40% sativa, the plant shows neither the extreme compactness of a pure indica nor the stretched habit of a long-cycle sativa. The 100- and 1,000-seed packs are single-strain. They are not mixes or assorted lots: they contain only White Widow and come from exactly the same selection of mother plants as the small pack, without separating lots by format.
