In the European catalogue the name Cheese designates a type of aromatic profile rather than a single genetic line. It is associated with the British scene of the late eighties and nineties, where a Skunk-line selection was identified with an odour so atypical —lactic, fermented, close to mature cheese— that it ended up giving it its name. Since then, “Cheese” is used to point to that particular register, and very different versions circulate under that name.

Total Cheese, also known as Super Cheese, is an in-house selection by Trikoma Seeds. Its documented cross combines Skunk, Critical Bilbo and Wembley. The Skunk component explains the fermented base of the aroma, which is the trait that places this strain within the Cheese family; Critical Bilbo brings the indica load and the short cycle, and Wembley completes the cross. The declared split is 90% indica and 10% sativa, one of the most indica-dominant of the whole catalogue.

It is an aroma that is identified immediately and that tends to produce opposite reactions, because it admits no middle ground.

In structure, the declared 90% indica translates into a plant of low, closed habit, with short internodes and dense, compact buds. The declared indoor flowering of 49 to 56 days places it among the shortest-cycle strains in the feminized catalogue, at the opposite end from the sativas of Haze lineage.

About the large formats

The 100- and 1,000-seed packs are single-strain. They are not mixes or assorted lots: they contain only Total Cheese and come from exactly the same selection of mother plants as the small pack, without separating lots by format.
