Gelato is born from the cross between Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, two lines that belong to the same trunk. The Cookies family emerged on the United States west coast and during the 2010s gave rise to a succession of sweet-profiled hybrids that redefined the taste of the Californian scene. Gelato is one of the names that came out of that sequence and today it is directly associated with that setting.

The cross explains well what the data sheet records. Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies contributes the biscuit background and the resinous character of the Cookies lineage; Sunset Sherbet, itself a descendant of the same family, adds the fruity register of berries and citrus. Gelato’s 100 and 1,000 seed packs are of a single strain, with no mixes: all the seeds come from the same selection as the small pack, not from a different batch or an assortment. The only thing that changes is the quantity and the price per seed, which drops from €3.33 in the small format to €2.40 in the 100-seed one and to €1.20 in the 1,000-seed one.
