Boca Negra, also known as Bocanegra, is an in-house selection by Trikoma Seeds. The name refers to the pirate of the same name, and it is a name given by the bank, with no more history than that. What defines the strain is its documented cross: Yumbolt × Amnesia Haze.

The two parent lines pull in different directions and the result leans clearly towards one of them. Amnesia Haze contributes the sativa block — the bearing, the growth vigour and the long cycle — and is the component that sets the plant’s general character. Yumbolt introduces the counterweight, a denser and more resinous load that keeps the whole from being as open as a pure sativa. The declared split is 75% sativa and 25% indica.

Boca Negra comes from our own mother plants selected and maintained at our bank in Barcelona, and every format on this page comes from that same selection. What makes this strain recognisable

Boca Negra’s citrus profile is the most defined in the whole catalogue, and the data sheet breaks it down with unusual precision. The aroma is described as citrus with a reference to orange blossom: it is not the sharp note of the peel nor the acidity of green fruit, but something more floral and enveloping, the register of orange blossom, with a fruity touch behind it.

The flavour is described separately and points to another spot on the same axis: ripe orange. It is a citrus that has already settled, sweeter and fleshier than the aroma, so that the strain travels the orange tree’s scale from flower to fruit. That separation between what you smell and what you taste is what makes the description distinctive within the catalogue.

The structure matches the declared 75% sativa. The data sheet speaks of a large plant with vigorous growth, with long, slim buds, the stretched, spaced-out silhouette typical of sativas of Haze lineage, at the opposite extreme from the wide, dense buds of the bank’s indicas. The approximately 85 days of declared indoor flowering confirm that reading: it is one of the longest cycles in the feminized catalogue.

How it fits within the catalogue

• Jack Herer is the catalogue’s other great sativa, with 90% sativa and a declared indoor flowering of 77–85 days. It matches on declared THC — 20–25% — but its aromatic register is incense and hashish, not citrus.

About the large formats

The 100 and 1,000 seed packs are of a single strain. They are not mixes or assorted batches: they contain only Boca Negra and come from exactly the same selection of mother plants as the small pack, without separating batches by format.
