Parent lines and genetic origin

Black Domina is one of the reference names of the indica block within the European catalogue. It answers to a specific idea of hybrid: instead of seeking balance between indica and sativa, it was built by bringing several indica lines together to take compactness and the short cycle to the extreme. That context belongs to Black Domina as a general strain, not to this particular line.

The genetics recorded on this page keep that approach: a cross of four indica strains within the Black Domina line, with a declared genotype of almost pure indica. The fast version is built on that base. A fast version is a photoperiod feminized strain: it goes into flowering when the light cycle changes, just like a conventional feminized one. What sets it apart is that in its ancestry there is a contribution of ruderalis, the subspecies that gives autoflowering to auto strains.

That contribution is introduced and then backcrossed towards the photoperiod line, so the trait that shortens flowering is kept but the autoflowering is lost. A fast does not flower on its own after a few weeks, as an auto does, nor does it carry the full cycle of a classic feminized one: here the declared range is 45 to 50 days, one of the shortest in the collection.

The Black Domina Fast line comes from our own mother plants selected and maintained at our bank in Barcelona, and all the formats on this page come from that same selection. We do not distribute third-party material or resell genetics from other banks.
