A number like &#8220;THC 19\u201324%&#8221; looks like a fixed technical specification, like an engine&#8217;s horsepower. It isn&#8217;t. It&#8217;s worth explaining what it really measures, where it comes from, and what can and can&#8217;t be concluded from it.<\/p>\n<h2>What exactly that number is<\/h2>\n<p>Declared THC is the <strong>range of tetrahydrocannabinol content that the seed bank attributes to a genetic line<\/strong>, based on its parents and on the selection work carried out on it over several generations.<\/p>\n<p>Three important clarifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>It describes the line, not the seed.<\/strong> It isn&#8217;t a measurement taken on the batch you buy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It&#8217;s a range, not a value.<\/strong> When a product page declares 21\u201326%, it&#8217;s saying that specimens of that line have historically fallen within that bracket.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It isn&#8217;t a guarantee.<\/strong> It&#8217;s catalog information, useful for identifying and comparing varieties with one another.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why it&#8217;s always a range and never an exact figure<\/h2>\n<p>Within the same variety, no two specimens are identical.
